Despite her advancing years, Winnie maintains a sleek figure and moves with the elegance characteristic of her species.
When it comes to personality, Winnie is the epitome of the phrase “still waters run deep”. She’s a shy girl who takes her time warming up to new people and situations. However, once she feels comfortable, she reveals a sweet and affectionate nature. Winnie’s ideal day involves finding a cosy sunbeam to bask in, punctuated by gentle strokes from her favourite humans.
As a senior cat, Winnie has some specific health and grooming needs. She benefits from a diet formulated for older cats to support her joints and digestion. Her beautiful coat requires regular brushing to prevent matting and help control shedding. Additionally, she may need help grooming those hard-to-reach spots as she becomes less flexible with age.
The perfect home for Winnie would be a quiet, calm environment where she can feel safe and secure. She’d do best in a household without young children or boisterous pets that might startle her. Patient adopters who are willing to give her time to adjust and come out of her shell would be ideal. A home with plenty of cosy hiding spots and high perches for observing her domain would make Winnie feel like the queen she truly is.

While not technically up for adoption, we couldn’t resist mentioning Paige, our 20-year-old Clydesdale horse. This majestic mare has been a beloved resident at our sanctuary for many years, serving as a testament to the beauty and dignity of senior animals.
Paige’s health journey has been an inspiring one. Despite her advanced age, she’s overcome several health challenges and continues to thrive under the care of our dedicated staff. She receives regular check-ups from our equine vet and enjoys a diet specially formulated for senior horses.
Despite her imposing size, Paige is known for her gentle and patient temperament. She’s particularly good with children and nervous handlers, making her an excellent ambassador for her breed. While she’s no longer ridden due to her age, she still enjoys gentle grooming sessions and short walks around the paddock.
While Paige isn’t available for traditional adoption, we’re always on the lookout for sponsors who can contribute to her care. For the right person or family, she could be an ideal companion horse. Her calm presence and gentle nature make her perfect for those looking to enjoy the company of a horse without the demands of riding or intense care.
